      <title>May in Bloom</title>

      <title>How do you create and maintain community?</title>
      <description>&lt;table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" id="tabcolumn-1" style="width: 100%; margin-bottom: 15px"&gt;&lt;tr&gt;&lt;td&gt;&lt;div id="column-1" usermodifiable="true" style="width: 100%"&gt;&lt;div id="ctrl-1038963"&gt;&lt;font face="Papyrus, Fantasy"&gt;How do you as a creative person, create and maintain community?&amp;#160;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div id="ctrl-1038964"&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div id="ctrl-1038965"&gt;&lt;font face="Papyrus, Fantasy"&gt;I find it so easy to stay in the studio and isolate myself from others.&amp;#160; I enjoy being with others, but it doesn't happen if I don't&amp;#160;deliberately make it happen.&amp;#160; I joined a group of plein air painters several years ago and it was the best thing I ever did for my self and my painting.&amp;#160; They went out painting (Plein Air) in and around the local areas.&amp;#160; Gardens, historic building, sea side villages, lakes, oceans were among the variey of sites for plein air artists to be&amp;#160;inspired.&amp;#160; We would meet back at a set location for lunch and a critique.&amp;#160; It was wonderful.&amp;#160; The&amp;#160;more seasoned painters&amp;#160;would share all of their knowledge and tips to help the newer painters.&amp;#160; Everyone cared about each other and encouraged each other.&amp;#160; There are several art clubs in the San Gabriel Valley where I live.&amp;#160; A lot of artists belong to&amp;#160;more than one&amp;#160;of them.&amp;#160; The clubs organize shows, classes and demonstrations.&amp;#160; They also raise funds for art scholarships.&amp;#160; They are made up of wonderful, talented and inspiring people who try to pass on their love of painting to others.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

      <description>&lt;table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" id="tabcolumn-1" style="width: 100%; margin-bottom: 15px"&gt;&lt;tr&gt;&lt;td&gt;&lt;div id="column-1" usermodifiable="true" style="width: 100%"&gt;&lt;div id="ctrl-10091222"&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;font face="Papyrus, Fantasy" size="4"&gt;Where do you, artists, musicians, actors, dancers and lovers, find your inspiration?&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div id="ctrl-10091223"&gt;&lt;font face="Papyrus, Fantasy"&gt;For myself, visiting local botanical gardens, mountains and canyons breath life into me and then into my desire to paint.&amp;#160; I prefer to paint on location.&amp;#160; That's the best inspiration of all.&amp;#160; There's a connection with the subject that you just can't get with a photograph.&amp;#160; I have found that in that connection there is peace.&amp;#160; All of the senses are engaged.&amp;#160; Memories are formed for a lifetime.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div id="ctrl-10091224"&gt;&lt;font face="Papyrus, Fantasy"&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div id="ctrl-10091226"&gt;&lt;font face="Papyrus, Fantasy"&gt;I encourage my students to work from life, use a sketchbook and look for the world most people walk by without noticing. &lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

      <title>Why do artists paint?</title>
      <description>&lt;table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" id="tabcolumn-1" style="width: 100%; margin-bottom: 15px"&gt;&lt;tr&gt;&lt;td&gt;&lt;div id="column-1" usermodifiable="true" style="width: 100%"&gt;If you are an artist/painter, tell us why you paint.&amp;#160; What is your medium and subject?&lt;div id="ctrl-100281313"&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div id="ctrl-100281315"&gt;I can tell you why I paint.&amp;#160; It is a necessity.&amp;#160; Painting clears my mind of trivial things that steal the life away from me.&amp;#160; Painting is also my connection to my God.&amp;#160; I am closer to him when I think about the beautiful world he has created and paint what I see.&amp;#160; I think a lot of people go through life without noticing all of the intricate details, color combinations and patterns that nature has for our enjoyment.&amp;#160; One of my purposes is to point that out to others.&amp;#160; That's why I zoom in close a lot of the time.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div id="ctrl-100281316"&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div id="ctrl-100281318"&gt;Painting is also therapeutic.&amp;#160; It gave me a place to go when my world was out of control.&amp;#160; Growing up was difficult, and only a few years ago I learned I had blocked a huge chunk of it out of my memory.&amp;#160; I painted a lot when I was a teen.&amp;#160; It was an escape from what was really happening.&amp;#160; In some ways it protected me until I was able to face the abuse in a safer place.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
